Simple Samples

Simple Samples™ is a way to send trial-sized product samples through the mail to prospective customers at an affordable price.

Benefits of using Simple Samples…

  • Flat Rate pricing
  • Less stringent mailpiece preparation requirements
  • No outer packaging needed
  • Volume discounts

There are 2 ways to use the Simple Samples program…

  1. Targeted – Send samples to select customers. You can purchase a list from a list provider or use your existing database to reach your target audience.
  2. Image of a sample being sent to customers targeted by mailing list or database.

  3. Every Door – Send samples to every customer on a specific route. This is great for direct mail programs, especially if you want to target a neighborhood near a specific retail store.
  4. Image of a sample being sent to every door for a designated route or local area.

How Pricing Works

We’ve simplified our pricing. So, whether you’re sending to targeted individuals or to every household, we offer flat prices for both small and large samples.

  • Samples smaller than 4″ x 6″ x 1½″ are considered small. Anything bigger (with a maximum size of 9″ x 12″ x 2″) is considered a large sample.

  • Handling fees will apply if your samples are dropped off at destinations other than the Destination Delivery Unit (DDU). The DDU is the Post Office™ where your carrier will deliver the samples to your customer.

  • No minimum quantities required per route.

  • No box or outer packaging required for samples, which cuts back on costs or the need to reconfigure samples. But if you wish to place your samples in outer packaging, that’s fine, too.

  • Volume discounts offered: 1 cent off for every additional 200K pieces per mailing.

  • Our targeted program requires a Detached Marketing Label (DML) or Detached Address Label (DAL) at no additional cost. Use a postcard-sized card (typically 3 ½” x 5”) to address the prospective consumer on one side. On the other side, you’ll be able to include a mobile barcode or other promotional information.

  • Every Door samples require a simplified address of a “Postal Customer”. If DALs are used, there is an additional cost.

To get started…

  1. Determine if you want to send samples to targeted customers or every customer on a particular mail carrier’s route.

  2. If you want to send samples to targeted customers, determine your list.  If it’s going to every customer, skip to 3.

  3. Measure your sample to see if it would be considered small or large.

  4. Determine how many samples you will be sending.

  5. Check our price list to determine your price and contact your Mail Service Provider to get started.
