Informed Address Pilot by USPS

Mail That Protects Consumer Privacy

In a digital age where privacy and security are more important than ever, we remain committed to providing innovative solutions for sending and receiving mail. Through the Informed Address Pilot by USPS®, businesses can send mail to potential customers without knowing physical mailing addresses, fully protecting consumers' privacy. Similarly, consumers can respond and engage with mailers without ever revealing their personal information.

How It Works

The USPS Informed Address technology allows mailers to:

  1. Address mail to a "Preferred Postal Customer".
  2. Replace the recipient’s street address with a special code.
  3. Include only the City, State and ZIP Code.

Pilot Overview

USPS will send mailpieces to request feedback from a small number of Informed Delivery® users in Northern Virginia who participated in a previous pilot of a concept called Informed Offers and opted in to receive Informed Address mail. The mailpieces will also request feedback from users on the Informed Address concept. Recipients will be invited to provide feedback through an online survey.
