To ensure the timely delivery of political mail, mailers should use the following guidance on the last suggested entry date.
Based on current U.S. Postal Service service standards, First-Class political campaign mail or First-Class political message mail must be mailed at least 3 consecutive days prior to the November 6 election date or November 3, if the mail travels within the contiguous United States. First-Class political campaign mail or First-Class political message mail must be mailed at least 5 consecutive days prior to the election date or November 1, if the mail travels from the contiguous states to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands and vice versa.
Based on current U.S. Postal Service service standards, mailers must induct their Standard political campaign mail or Standard political message mail into the Postal Service network at least 10 consecutive days prior to the November 6 election date or October 27, if the mail travels within the contiguous United States. Mailers must induct their Standard political campaign mail or Standard political message mail into the Postal Service network at least 24 consecutive days prior to the November 6 election date or October 13, if the mail travels from the contiguous states to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands and vice versa.
