Shaping a More Efficient Future

On May 14, we introduced new domestic prices that reflect changes in our operations and the marketplace, offers more choices, and creates a more efficient mail system that keeps overall costs as low as possible.
We also changed our international products to make them clear-cut and easy to use. The changes include the familiar USPS domestic product names – First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, and Express Mail – into the international product portfolio for retail customers. Commercial customers may contact the Postal Service’s Global Business group for more information about customized business mailing solutions. Additionally, online shippers can qualify for discounts of up to 10 percent when paying postage online through usps.com and authorized postage vendors.
On July 15, we implemented new Periodicals prices to enhance efficiency, offer more choices, and better ensure that all types of Periodicals mail cover its costs. Periodicals mailers have new incentives to use efficient containers and bundles, and copalletization becomes a permanent offering to encourage more publishers to combine mailings. We also added new prices for the nonadvertising portion of a mailing to give mailers of high-editorial-content publications access to lower destination entry rates.
