What Are the Quality Supplier Awards?

The United States Postal Service® initiated the Quality Supplier Awards (QSA) Program in 1989 to annually recognize our outstanding postal suppliers. The QSA awards are presented by the Postmaster General to publicly recognize suppliers who have truly made significant contributions towards helping the Postal Service benefit from Supply Chain Management best practices. These efforts have been successful in providing positive bottom line and performance results that ultimately help the Postal Service more effectively achieve its mission of providing mail service to the American public.

2004 Quality Supplier Award Update

Our 2004 Quality Supplier Awards (QSA) Program will be similar to the 2003 cycle, which placed an emphasis on Supply Chain Management (SCM) successes that have truly "made a difference" in helping the Postal Service™ achieve positive bottom line results.

In the upcoming months, we will be asking for our internal Supply Management Professionals to nominate SCM successes that will represent the "Buying Team" including Clients/Requiring Organizations, Buyers, and Suppliers as appropriate.

Please note that all nominations will be prepared and submitted internally by a Postal employee or Team. Suppliers will not be asked to respond to Evaluation Criteria as in the past (no supplier self-nominations).

By mid-year, we will publicize an “open season” for nominations. We intend on recognizing the 2004 Quality Supplier Award winners after the close of FY 2004.
