A-number-1; the top of the heap: PMG, COO recognize 95/94 achievers at NY event

They're the cream of the crop - the Postal Service's top Performance Clusters, Districts and Areas. They were recognized by PMG Jack Potter and Chief Operating Officer Pat Donahoe at last week's 95/94 recognition ceremonies in New York City. The event honored top performing units in delivery performance and customer satisfaction for both quarter 4 and year end.

Area winners for quarter four were Allegheny, Capital Metro, Midwest and Northeast. Major Metros were Atlanta, Boston, Capital, Dallas, Gateway, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and South Florida.

Other Performance Clusters making the top grade were Akron, Cincinnati, Erie, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Greater Michigan, Appalachian, Kentuckiana, Baltimore, Northern Virginia, Central Plains, Dakotas, Hawkeye, Lakeland, Northland, Albany, Maine, Middlesex-Central, New Hampshire, Southeast New England, Springfield MA, Western New York, Honolulu, North Florida, South Georgia, Suncoast, Arkansas, Big Sky and Spokane.

Northeast was named leading Area; Gateway was leading Major Metro; and Springfield, MA, was leading PC.

For year-end performance, the Northeast Area was recognized. Major Metro winners were Boston, Capital, Gateway, Los Angeles and South Florida. Top performing PCs, other than Major Metros, were Akron, Erie, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Greater Michigan, Appalachian, Kentuckiana, Northern Virginia, Central Plains, Dakotas, Hawkeye, Albany, Maine, Middlesex-Central, New Hampshire, Southeast New England, Springfield MA, Western New York, Honolulu, South Georgia and Big Sky.

Leading Area, Major Metro and PC for year end were Northeast, Capital and Springfield, MA, respectively.

Year-end Firefighter Awards were presented to individuals who went "above and beyond" the normal by helping to lead the Postal Service through the incredible challenges of the last three months. Recognized were: Sam Pulcrano, manager, Safety Performance Management; Nancy James, manager, Product Development Enhancement; Jerry Lane, district manager, Capital District, Tim Haney, senior plant manager, Capital District; Vinnie Malloy, district manager, New York District; Bob Daruk, senior plant manager, New York District; Diane Todd, manager, Public Affairs & Communications, NY Metro; Vito Cetta, district manager, Central New Jersey District; Lee Heath, deputy chief inspector, Eastern Field Operations; John Skidmore, inspector-in-charge, New York Metro Division; and Kevin Burke, inspector-in-charge, North Jersey-Caribbean Division.
