Mailing Industry Task Force Announces Steering Committee Members

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Mailing Industry Task Force, led by Deputy Postmaster General John Nolan and Pitney Bowes Chairman and CEO Michael J. Critelli, today named the members of its Steering Committee. The Task Force, first announced at the spring National Postal Forum in Orlando, FL, is comprised of mailing industry leaders brought together to analyze the state of the industry and identify opportunities for future growth.

"I am gratified that such accomplished business leaders recognize the importance of the Task Force's mission and are willing to devote their time to it," Nolan said. "Their commitment shows the mailing industry's support for this effort to define our future."

Members of the Steering Committee are:
  • Charles Morgan, Company Leader, Acxiom
  • Gary Mulloy, Chairman and CEO, ADVO, Inc.
  • Jonathan Linen, Vice Chairman, American Express
  • Michael Sherman, President, Fingerhut
  • Irvine Hockaday, President and CEO, Hallmark
  • David Sable, President and CEO, Wunderman
  • William Davis, Chairman, President and CEO, R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co.
  • Thomas Siebel, Chairman and CEO, Siebel Systems, Inc.
  • Dr. Jerome Swartz, Chairman and Chief Scientist, Symbol Technologies, Inc.
"The Task Force's efforts will have significant bearing on the future of the mailing industry," said Critelli. "The level and caliber of the executives who have committed their time and resources to the Task Force underlines its significance and bodes well for the future. Given the broad range of organizations represented, I am confident that we will be able to produce ideas and action items that will help drive new business in the mailing sector."

The Mailing Industry Task Force was set up to collect and analyze data on the competitive environment facing the mailing industry and develop recommendations for a course of action to grow new business. An initial report will be presented to the mailing industry at the National Postal Forum in October in Denver, CO.
