Holiday Contemporary: Deer
The 1999 Holiday Contemporary stamps feature a stylized antique-gold deer set against one of four different deeply colored backgrounds (red, green, purple or blue). The word "greetings" appears in gold capital letters along the bottom of the stamps. These holiday stamps can be used on envelopes to send season’s greetings across the country. For inspiration, first-time stamp artist Tom Nikosey used holiday designs that foundries made available to printers in the 1930s.
