TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
|
The United States Postal Service has the following excellent and
challenging employment opportunity for highly motivated and innovative
individuals to work in our Information Technology, Mainframe Computer Operations office in SAN MATEO, CA.
Successful candidates must
demonstrate through a combination of education, training, and experience
the following requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of distributing systems, communication technologies used in wide area and local area networks, and electronic messaging at a level sufficient to meet customer needs and requirements.
- Knowledge of information systems operations as it relates to computer and telecommunications acquisition, installation, security, operations, and maintenance.
- Ability to manage activities of a group of employees and contractor staff to meet organization goals, including organizing and structuring the work, establishing effective work relationships, and facilitating the flow of information.
- Ability to oversee and coordinate the planning, development, testing and implementation of local area network and distributed management information systems to ensure compliance with standards, policies and procedures.
- Ability to provide technical advice and guidance on all aspects of LAN analysis, design, development and maintenance of business information systems.
- Ability to monitor the development of test plans and procedures to ensure system performance meets defined requirements.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with executives, employees, contractors, customers, industry and government representatives to answer questions and present technical information.

- Ability to provide operational support in a complex mainframe environment.

Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug
screening to meet the U. S. Postal Service’s requirement to be

The salary range is $60,913 - $118,300. Salary will be based on previous
experience, salary history, and current postal pay policies. We offer
excellent benefits including health and life insurance, retirement plan,
savings/investment plan with employer contribution, flexible spending
account, flextime scheduling of core work hours, annual and sick leave.
