Eligibility Requirements  
Eligibility requirements for Management Intern.
The program is open to all who possess the required qualifications.
 
Eligibilty Requirements
In order for applicants to be considered qualified, they must meet all of the following requirements:

Must have received by August 5, 2006, a master’s degree in Business Administration; or a master of science degree in Management, Finance, Logistics, Supply-Chain Management, or Operations; or a master’s degree in Engineering (specifically Industrial Operations, Operations Research, Manufacturing, or Engineering Management) from a graduate school accredited by a national or regional accreditation organization recognized and sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Education.

Must be evaluated as meeting the minimum administrative and competency requirements as detailed in the online screening application, including submission of the necessary documentation as requested.

Must meet the minimum competency requirements as assessed during the Assessment Center portion of the selection process.

Must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident alien, or a citizen of American Samoa or other territory owing allegiance to the United States. External applicants only.

Must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening to meet USPS employment requirements. External applicants only.

Veterans’ preference will be afforded to all appropriate and qualified applicants during the selection process. Specific documentation for a Veterans’ preference claim will be required, including submission of DD-214 and/or other documents and requirements specified on the SF-15. External applicants only.

Please note that only a limited number of the best qualified applicants will be referred to each stage of the selection process. Qualified current postal career employees who apply through the internal promotion application process will be given first consideration throughout the entire selection process. This includes consideration from the application review process to the Assessment Center, from the Assessment Center to the hiring interview process, and finally, in the final selection decisions to be made in May 2006.

Applicants selected as management interns must be available to participate in a one-week orientation at Postal Service headquarters, Washington D.C., at the start of the program on August 7, 2006.
