About the Internship
Preparing leaders for tomorrow's Postal service.
If you are chosen for this highly selective program, you will immediately be assigned to a hands-on management position in processing, delivery, or retail operations in one of the Postal Service’s nine geographic areas. These are the core business operations that enable the Postal Service to make daily deliveries and pick-ups for every home and business in America and for more than 40% of the world’s mail.

You will enter the program as a manager on the Executive Administrative Schedule (EAS-19), overseeing front-line supervisors who, in turn, supervise personnel performing mail processing, delivery, and retail operations. Assuming satisfactory performance in the intern program, your first post-internship position will be a 2 year commitment in field operations at a mid-level management position. Examples of mid-level management operational responsibilities include managing a large post office or branch facility with numerous routes, a shift operation in a processing plant, a substantial fleet operation, or a large financial operation.
