Positions: General Maintenance Group

All positions in this group are related to building and building and equipment maintenance such as: Building Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Mechanic, Building Maintenance Custodian, Carpenter, Painter, Plumber, etc.

Maintenance positions require highly skilled and experienced individuals. We provide on-the-job and on-site training, and continuous training at the National Center for Employee Development (NCED) in Norman, OK.

Job Requirements

1. Applicants must meet the appropriate qualifications and screening requirements associated the specific position(s) of interest.
2. Jobs may require irregular hours.
3. Positions require prolonged standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching and stooping.
4. Employees must lift heavy objects on level surfaces, on ladders, and/or on stairways.
5. For positions requiring driving, applicants must have a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
6. Applicants may be required to qualify on industrial powered lifting equipment.

Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U. S. Postal Service's Employment Requirements. Applicants must also be a U. S. citizen or have lawful permanent resident alien status.

3. After you have applied, you will be sent a package that includes the exam date, time and location, along with material to help you prepare.
4. Take the exam; you must receive a passing score of 70 on the written examination to receive further employment consideration.
5. After passing the exam, you will be required to complete a supplemental application within a specific timeframe describing your knowledge, skills, and abilities.
6. If you are determined to be eligible, you will continue the process for employment consideration.
