Most new employees are designated as 'part-time flexible' (PTF). They are paid an hourly rate and work a flexible schedule as required by the workflow needed to maintain the postal fleet.

Job Requirements |
- Performs routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles used in the postal fleet.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex vehicle malfunctions using a variety of computerized test equipment.
- May provide assistance to employees.

How to Apply |
- Applicants must apply for Exams 943 and 944 before they will be considered for employment. Applicants can apply for Exams online or by phone.
- Online - Click "Exam Openings" below and search for opportunties by State.
- By Phone - Call 1-478-757-3199 (TTY 1-800-800-8776) and follow the prompts (you must have an announcement number to apply by phone).
- After you have applied; you will be sent a package that includes the exam date, time, and location of the exams along with materials to help you prepare.
- Take the exams. You must receive a passing score of 70 on the written examinations to receive further employment consideration.
- After passing the written exams, you must complete a bench test for an automotive technician position.
