Position: Automotive Mechanic

Most new employees are paid an hourly rate and work a flexible schedule as required by the workflow needed to maintain the postal fleet.

Job Requirements

1. Perform routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles.
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex vehicle malfunctions using a variety of computerized test equipment.
3. Provide assistance to other employees.

Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U. S. Postal Service's Employment Requirements. Applicants must also be a U. S. citizen or have lawful permanent resident alien status.

3. After you have applied; you will be sent a package that includes the exam date, time and location, along with materials to help you prepare.
4. Take the exam; you must receive a passing score of 70 on the written examination to receive further employment consideration.
5. After passing the exam, you must complete a bench test for a career automotive mechanic or technician position.
