If you purchased insurance at the time you mailed
your package, or if you mailed your package using
Collect on Delivery (COD) service, Registered Mail™
with postal insurance, or by Express Mail®, these
services provide compensation in case of loss or
damage. This information also applies to domestic
postal insurance purchased online for Priority Mail®,
Express Mail, Parcel Post, Media Mail, and First-Class
Mail® parcels. The information on the following pages
tells what is covered by the insurance you purchased
and steps you can take to recover the value of the
articles you mailed, if they are lost or damaged.
