PCC MANAGEMENT INSIGHTS
We’re expanding distribution of PCC Management Insights, a monthly communication devoted to policies and rules governing PCCs. Initially e-mailed to PCC administrators and postal co-chairs, these articles now are available at the National PCC website: usps.com/nationalpcc/resources.htm. PCC industry co-chairs also will receive these articles.
PCC Management Insights is designed to help you learn more about the content of Publication 286, Postal Customer Council Program Policies and Rules (March 2007), and it provides information you can use to improve PCC operations.
A SIMPLER WAY TO SHIP
The Postal Service is launching a nationwide advertising campaign to highlight the benefits of Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes to business customers. Flat-rate boxes are an easy way to ship to any state for a low flat rate — if it fits, it ships! The whole country is one zone with flat-rate boxes. And there’s no need to weigh anything up to 70 pounds when you use a Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. On May 19, we’ll introduce a new website for Priority Mail information — prioritymail.com. Check it out for a simpler way to ship!
KEEPING CURRENT ON PRICES AND STANDARDS
Need information on revised mailing standards to support the recent price change for mailing services? Go to Postal Explorer at pe.usps.com for the Domestic Mail Manual, DMM Advisory and other resources. Highlights of the price change include new options for preparing First-Class Mail automation letters and Standard Mail automation and machinable letters, revisions to price categories for irregular parcels and Not Flat-Machinable pieces weighing less than 6 ounces, and new Standard Mail saturation mail initiatives to encourage growth.
FYI…
Two workshops — Package Services and Results-Driven Marketing in a Down Economy — will be developed and distributed for National PCC Day, Sept. 16. Plan now to incorporate these two required workshops into your educational activities for the day. Webinars to help local presenters become familiar with the workshops will be announced at a later date.
