Postal Service Offers More Than Just Cost Savings
Editor’s note: In a series of special editions, we’re providing you with information about the value of shipping with the Postal Service.
It’s not just about price.
Over the past few weeks we’ve explained how the Postal Service’s hard-to-beat prices with no net minimums, area surcharges or other added fees make us a great deal in shipping. But we know that today’s shipping customer also wants more — ease of shipping from home or office, complimentary packaging supplies and tracking information.
Want the whole package? You’ve come to the right place for convenience, visibility and customer care.
The Postal Service offers a variety of online shipping and payment options. For small and medium-size businesses, there’s Click-N-Ship at usps.com and the Shipping Assistant application. For large shippers, payment is available using permit imprint, postage meter payment or electronic transfer. In addition, online payment methods are offered by USPS-authorized PC Postage providers.
For expedited and international shipments, free packaging — including flat-rate boxes — is available. For customers who meet certain requirements, there’s customized and co-branded packaging. And to make it even more convenient for you, package pickup can be requested at usps.com, available at no extra charge, even on Saturdays.
We also provide information about your shipments, including Delivery Confirmation and other online tracking information. New technology is being deployed to increase the amount of scans a package receives during the processing cycle to provide even more visibility. We are continually working to leverage our technology to provide you with better shipping tools.
And, most important, we’re committed to providing great customer service and delivery performance. So, when you add it all up, we’re sure you’ll agree — shipping with the Postal Service is smart business!
