Post Office Hours Announced for Holiday
Noon set as day’s final mail collection
CHARLESTON, WV – The U.S. Postal Service Appalachian District is announcing a change in retail hours for several Post Offices, stations and branches on Christmas Eve, December 26, and December 27.
Many businesses close early on Christmas Eve, and the number of customers visiting Post Office lobbies greatly diminishes. As such, Post Offices in some locations will make appropriate adjustments to retail operations.
Regular mail delivery for December 24, 26 and 27 will be unaffected by these changes. All Post Offices will be closed on Christmas Day. Express Mail will be delivered Christmas Day.
Noon will be the last collection for mail deposited in blue collection boxes for Dec. 24 processing. Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office. Commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for Dec. 24 hours of operation. To obtain the phone number of a specific Post Office, customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS.
Customers can log on to usps.com from their home or office. The Postal Store at usps.com is open 24 hours a day. At The Postal Store, you can buy stamps and stationery, philatelic collectibles and other gift items, order free shipping supplies, print mailing labels with or without postage, and design and mail cards and letters without ever leaving your home.
