Wheeling Post Office to Stay Open Later

6 p.m. weekday closing adds convenience to area customers

WHEELING, WV — The Wheeling Post Office, located at 2501 Chapline Street, (26003), will now remain open weekdays until 6 p.m. effective June 7, says Postmaster Randy Link. Saturday operating hours will remain the same.

“It is part of our ongoing effort to make it easier for our customers to meet their mailing and shipping needs,” Link said.

New hours of operation for the Post Office are:

Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.—Sat. 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The postmaster added that many services are available on a 24-hour basis by going online to usps.com. Users can buy stamps, print mailing labels, pay for postage, confirm delivery or arrange for a package pick up at the home or office at no extra charge.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
