Morgantown Post Office to Relocate

New Location Boasts 24-hour Access and Free Parking

MORGANTOWN, WV — The city’s Downtown Post Office will celebrate the new year with a new home. It’s moving from the old Federal Building to nearby South High Station, 40 High Street.

The move will take place on Saturday, Jan. 5. The retail window unit will be closed that day, but mail delivery will be unaffected. Post Office box customers will have access to their boxes after 5 p.m. at the new location.

The new facility, which opens for business on Monday, Jan. 7, features an updated lobby, 24-hour access to Post Office boxes and on-site parking.

“We’re excited to be part of the revitalization of South High in downtown Morgantown,” said Morgantown Postmaster Tommy M. White. “Our new space will allow us to better service our customers with around-the-clock access to post office boxes. Another added convenience is free parking.”

The Morgantown Post Office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
