Postmaster of Milwaukee to Take Oath of Office

Background: 
Charles (Charley) J. Miller is the 36th person to earn the distinction and title of Postmaster since the Milwaukee Post Office was established in 1835.

Miller is responsible for mail delivery and retail sales at the Main Post Office and 20 additional Post Offices within the Milwaukee city limits.  The Milwaukee Post Office delivers more than a billion pieces of mail a year to more than 490,000 addresses and generates more than 400 million dollars in sales from postage and related products and services.

He began his career with the Postal Service in 1984 as a letter carrier at the Gaffney Branch Post Office in St. Louis, Missouri.  He has advanced through positions of increased responsibility including:  Supervisor, Customer Services; Customer Relations Coordinator; Marketing Support Analyst; Sales Analyst; Postmaster, St. Peters, Missouri; and Manager, Operations Programs Support.  Charley received a Bachelor of Science Degree at University of Missouri in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration Degree at Lindenwood University in 2001.  Additionally, his military service included six years as a special agent with the U.S. Air Force – Office of Special Investigations (OSI).

Charley looks forward to the challenges of the Milwaukee Postmaster position and is committed to excellent service.  Miller and his wife, Carol, have 2 sons and three grandchildren.
