Postmaster of Racine Takes Oath of Office

Background:
Farnsworth was appointed the 27th Postmaster of Racine, Wisconsin on June 7, 2008 and is responsible for mail delivery and retail sales at the Main Post Office, Racine 4-Mile Station and West Racine Station.

He began his career with the Postal Service in 1989 as a city letter carrier at the Kenosha, Wisconsin Post Office. He has advanced through positions of increased responsibility including: Supervisor Customer Service in Kenosha, acting postmaster in Cedarburg, WI, postmaster of Germantown, and postmaster of Burlington. He also completed the Career Management Program in Norman, OK, and was detailed to Chicago Improvement Team last summer.

Ron and Shelli (wife of 22 years) have 3 sons: Miles, Tyler and Joshua. Ron was born and raised in Racine and has a strong involvement in community service which includes coaching youth and high school football, as well as baseball. Ron is also on the Tony Azarian Memorial Scholarship Committee, which provides scholarships to several of Racine's best student athletes.

"I'm looking forward to working with all employees in Racine", said Farnsworth, "to establish a team that will surpass our internal goals, but also a team that will exceed our customers expectations."
