Hays Park Station Awarded Bronze Level Customer Service Award

SPOKANE WA— Postal customers in Spokane might not realize that they are in the “company of stars,” but their local Post Office ranks among the nations very best offices for customer service.

The Hays Park Station recently earned a Bronze Level Award as part of the Postal Service’s prestigious 5 Star Customer Service Program.

Under the program, the Bronze Level is given to offices that maintain four consecutive quarters of 5 Star ratings. Nationwide, only a small percentage of offices qualified for the distinction.

The 5 Star program is based on independent surveys by the Gallup Organization, which asks USPS customers to rate local Post Offices on efficiency, accuracy of delivery, consistency of delivery, and wait-time-in-line.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said station manager Bob Hardin. “We continually strive to provide excellent service to our customers. This Bronze Level shows that we’re succeeding.”

Each office earning Bronze Level status receives a sign for its door, and all employees receive Bronze Level lapel pins in recognition of the rating.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
