POSTAL SERVICE HOSTING USPS.COM WEEK EVENTS
Seven Post Offices in the Puget Sound area will host events next week in conjunction with usps.com week — March 12-16.
The Postal Service is as old as America, but as modern as today. Everyday, more than one million people visit the Postal Service's award-winning Website, www.usps.com. They've learned that just about anything they can do at the Post Office, they can do from their home or office computer.
The events will demonstrate to customers the many mailing and shipping services that are available through usps.com. The schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, March 13 - Ballard Post Office, 5706 17th Ave NW, Seattle, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lakewood Post Office, 5409 100th St. SW, Tacoma, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 14 - Midtown Post Office, 301 Union St., Seattle, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lynnwood Post Office, 6817 208th St SW, Lynnwood, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Thursday, March 15 - Queen Anne Post Office, 415 1st Ave. N., Seattle, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mill Creek Post Office, 15833 Mill Creek Blvd., Mill Creek, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Friday, March 16 - Kirkland Post Office, 721 4th Ave., Kirkland, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Postal Service, recognizing its customers have busy lives, created a secure Website that puts a suite of quick, easy, and convenient online services at their fingertips - when and where customers need them.
With usps.com, customers can look up a ZIP Code and find addressing information; calculate rates, buy stamps, locate a Post Office, have their mail forwarded or held, order shipping supplies, and use Click-N-Ship to create shipping labels and pay postage. And with just a few extra clicks they can arrange to have their letter carrier pick-up their prepaid packages with the next day's mail delivery - at no extra charge. They can create, personalize, and mail greeting cards and newsletters.
They can do all this — and more — at usps.com, the Post Office that never closes.
An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to cover its operating expenses. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $73 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
