An execution fee of $25 per applicant may be paid with cash, check, credit or debit card to USPS. Passport photos are available for an additional $15.

Passport Card applications will also be accepted. The Cards cost $10 plus an execution fee of $25 for individuals under 16 years of age and $20 and an additional $25 execution fee for those over the age of 16.

The U.S. Department of State has imposed new passport regulations. All persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS Card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable. Effective June 1, 2009, all U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry must have a passport or a passport card. A Passport Book will be required for travel by air.

Customers applying for a passport must provide the following — a passport application (available at the event or online); proof of U.S. citizenship (previous U.S. passport, certified U.S. birth certificate, consular report of birth abroad or certification of birth, or a Certificate of Naturalization); valid identification, and two passport-size photos (which can be taken at the event for an additional $15).

For minors under age 16, both parents or legal guardians must be present with valid picture identification. Proof of citizenship for the minor and proof of relationship must be provided. If only one parent appears a notarized statement from the able parent, evidence of sole custody or a written statement explaining the absence of the second parent is required. Minor children applying for a passport must appear in person.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a passport book and/or passport card can be found at www.usps.com/passport or travel.state.gov.

U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1.877.487.2778.

In 2008, the U.S. Postal Service accepted 8.5 million passport applications.
