Background:
International air travelers now require a passport. Travelers who fly to and from Mexico, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean are now required to have a passport to enter or re-enter the United States. Sea and land crossings to and from the above locations will require a government-issued photo ID, such as a drivers license, plus proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate. Anyone planning travel outside the United States can apply for a passport, or renew an old one, during this Passport Day. Passport photo service will also be available.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
