WHAT:
Toano Post Office, 7890 Richmond Rd. (23168) will be closed to retail and post office box customers while new flooring is installed. Retail, carrier, and post office box operations will be temporarily relocated. The collection box will remain in place and available for depositing mail.

WHEN:
Retail services will close from 12:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, through Tue., Feb. 17, resuming normal hours at 8:15 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 21. Box mail customers can retrieve mail until 6 p.m. on Friday. Equipment and mail will be moved back to Toano Post Office on Tuesday, and post office box mail should be available by mid-morning. All Post offices are closed on Mon., Feb. 19, in observance of Presidents' Day.

WHERE:
Postal operations will be temporarily housed at Lightfoot Post Office, 6376 Richmond Rd. Customers' hold mail and accountable mail, or mail that must be signed for, will also be moved to Lightfoot Post Office.

NOTES:
Officer in Charge Rosemarie Whiteman, has worked with both the contractor and postal employees to ensure a minimal disruption of service to her Toano customers. "We've reviewed the plans and timelines and made several adjustments. I think carrying out this work over the holiday weekend makes the most sense and minimizes the inconvenience for customers and employees," said Whiteman.

Lightfoot Post Office, approximately 4.5 miles from Toano Post Office, is open Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday, 8:15 a.m. to 12 noon. Customers needing only retail service can also visit Norge Post Office, 7489 Richmond Rd., which is open Mon. through Fri., 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.) and Sat., 9 to 11:30 a.m.
