Auto and Bike Show-Free Admission

Merrifield Post Office Hosts Auto and Bike Show July 26

Merrifield VA —The Merrifield Post Office will host an auto and motorcycle show on Sunday July 26, 2009 from 9:00 AM through 1:00 PM. Admission is free for the public. Show competition is open to all but a competitor’s registration fee of $5 dollars is required.

The Postal Service knows a little bit about cars. With over 220,000 delivery vehicles and trucks, the Postal Service maintains the largest and cleanest civilian fleets in the world. Nearly 20 percent of Postal vehicles are alternate-fuel capable.

“This show gives us an opportunity to engage people in our community and admire some beautiful vehicles. We have an amazing car of our own to show off”, said Northern Virginia District Manager Michael Furey. The Postal Service will be displaying a hydrogen-fuel-cell powered vehicle during the show.

The show will feature hot rod reality television show host Bubba Lloyd. Bubba will display several hot rods from Bubbas East Coast Rods and Customs.

There will plenty of fun activities for children during the event.

For more information or to register a car in the event, please contact the event coordinator at (703) 698-6388.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 149 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes, six days a week. It has 34,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services, not tax dollars, to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
