It’s Not Too Late to Mail Those Holiday Gifts

Use Express Mail for Delivery Even on Christmas Day

Looking to buy some extra time this holiday season? Consider using Express Mail overnight service from the Post Office.  Only Santa and the Postal Service will deliver on Christmas Day.

According to Salt Lake District Manager Ken McArthur, it’s not too late to ensure those gifts reach loved ones by Christmas Day. “Get it to us by Dec. 22, and we’ll deliver it by Christmas, guaranteed,” said McArthur. Postal customers can visit usps.com for Express Mail overnight destinations, mailing times and rates, or call 1-800-ASK-USPS/1-800-275-8777.

Express Mail rates begin at $16.25 for up to one-half pound, $21.40 for two pounds, and $30.70 for five pounds. Environment-friendly shipping supplies are available at Post Offices at no charge. Express Mail is automatically insured up to $100 against loss or damage, and provides signed proof of delivery and tracking information.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
