Going to the Post Office? “Skip the Trip,” say Utah postal officials, who are encouraging customers to enjoy the convenience of the internet during usps.com week, which begins March 12.
“Why come to the Post Office when the Post Office will come to you?” said USPS District Manager Ken McArthur.
A usps.com expert will be at four Utah Post Offices along the Wasatch Front to demonstrate to residential and business customers how virtually anything that can be done at the Post Office can be done online from the comfort of their home or office, including printing postage-paid labels for no additional fee, and requesting a free package pickup.
Time and locations for free usps.com demonstrations:
- March 13 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ogden Main Post Office, 3680 S. Pacific Ave.
- March 14 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Orem Main Post Office, 222 W. Center St.
- March 15 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. George Red Rocks Post Office, 1150 E. Riverside Dr.
- March 16 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Salt Lake Sugarhouse Post Office, 1953 S. 1100 E.
At usps.com customers can find a ZIP Code; track and confirm mail delivery; hold mail; change their address; buy stamps; and order free Express Mail and Priority Mail shipping supplies — all from their own computers. Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes take the weight out of mailing. Ship anything that fits, up to 70 pounds, to any destination in the U.S. for just $8.10.
“We encourage our customers to come in and learn how easy and convenient it is to use the Post Office these days,” said McArthur.
