El Paso Post Office Ready for Busiest Mailing Day
Help for Harried Shoppers’ Shipping Needs
El Paso, TX — As the U.S. Postal Service gears up for its busiest holiday mailing day of the season, shoppers are scrambling to send their holiday gifts and cards.
“For last-minute shoppers, the Postal Service offers quick, easy and convenient shipping choices,” says Postmaster Severo Garza.
The Postal Service expects to deliver 19 billion letters, packages and cards between Thanksgiving and Christmas. the busiest mailing day is expected to be Monday, Dec. 15, when 960 million cards and letters will be processed, nearly double the average daily volume. The busiest delivery day will be Wednesday, Dec. 17.
Locally, Severo expects over 340,600 pieces to be canceled on Monday. Last year nearly five million pieces of mail were canceled during the month of December here in El Paso.
“During the busiest time of year, we know that customers want more choice and convenience,” says Severo. “With the holidays just around the corner, the Postal Service provides more options for your last-minute shipping needs than anyone else.”
“We know harried shoppers don’t always have time to drop off their cards and packages or buy stamps at the Post Office,” Postmaster Garza says. “That’s why it helps to know other places and ways everyone can access our mailing services when they run short on time.”
