Foxbrook Finance Post Office in Humble to be Dedicated in Honor of Texas Military Veterans

Houston, TX— Military veterans across the state of Texas will be honored with the designation of a Post Office being dedicated in their honor at a ceremony to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10.

United States Congressman Ted Poe (Texas –District 2) will host a ceremony officially dedicating the United States Post Office at 7231 FM 1960 in Humble, Texas as the “Texas Military Veterans Post Office.”

Legislation sponsored by Congressman Poe to dedicate the facility in honor of military veterans in the state of Texas was passed by the United States Congress on April 21, 2008.

The ceremony will include a Presentation of Colors by the Humble High School ROTC Color Guard, the National Anthem by the East Gate Brass Band, and remarks by Kelvin Williams, Houston District Manager, U.S. Postal Service; and Craig Reinold with the Public Contact and Congressional Unit for the Houston Veterans Affairs Regional Office.

A reception will immediately follow the dedication ceremony. A special pictorial postmark to mark the occasion will also be available at the event.

The dedication ceremony precedes Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11) by one day, and the legislation to rename the facility was introduced to the U.S. Congress on April 21 of this year, the anniversary date for Texas’ most historically significant military victory along the San Jacinto River in 1836.
