Service Reestablished at many South Texas Post Offices in 785 ZIP Code Area
Mail delivery will resume tomorrow at all post offices located within the 785 ZIP Code area affected by Hurricane Dolly, Rio Grande District Manager Manuel Arguello announced today. “We are doing everything possible to reestablish service with our customers in areas where it is safe to do so in an effort to reconnect our customers with their mail,” Arguello explained. “By tomorrow we expect to see full reestablishment of delivery services and will also have window services at most Post Offices except those still lacking power or damaged by the storm.”
Postal carriers have been ordered to not risk their personal safety attempting mail delivery where roads are deemed unsafe for travel, so some delivery services and collection of mail may not be available.
The situation will continue to be reviewed on a daily basis, and normal services will be resumed as soon as power is restored or as safely possible.
A mobile retail van will be located at Lozano to provide our customers retail services while this office remains without power. We regret any inconvenience to our customers.
