Expands Retail Services for Katy, TX Postal Customers

Offers a Wide Range of Postal Products and Services at Post Office Prices

Houston, TX — Products and services offered by the U.S. Postal Service are now easier than ever for postal customers in the Katy area to access through the opening of a Contract Post Office (CPU) located within Texas Food Mart at 19410 Clay Road.

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at 10: 30 a.m., and a Grand Opening Celebration will be held form 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22 to officially open the Texas Food Mart CPU.

Located 4.2 miles northeast of the Katy Post Office, which is located at 20180 Park Row Dr., the Contract Postal Unit within Texas Food Mart offers postal customers an additional option to access postal products and services, and is a Quick, Easy, and Convenient alternative to the Katy Post Office for retail transactions. The Texas Food Mart CPU is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday.

What’s a CPU? It’s a Contract Postal Unit located inside a retail establishment and run by the retailer’s employees. These in-store CPUs offer a wide range of U.S. Postal Service products and services at the same prices found in traditional Post Offices. More than 5,000 retailers have taken advantage of this opportunity.

There are over 60 CPUs in the greater Houston area. To find one near you, call 1-800-ASK-USPS, or go online to www.usps.com , click on the “Locate a Post Office” tab, and follow the prompts.

Whether you want to mail a Priority Mail or Express Mail package, send a letter via Certified Mail, or simply purchase postage stamps at regular Post Office prices, The Texas Food Mart CPU is ready and able to assist you. For more information, call the Texas Food Mart CPU at www.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
