Montgomery Post Office to Relocate Nearby
Current site will continue to be utilized for Mail Delivery Operations
New Site offers expanded Post Office Boxes and Customer Parkin
Houston, TX — Access to postal products and services for Montgomery residents is set to expand with the relocation of postal retail services from the current Montgomery Post Office site to a nearby, newly constructed commercial site. Effective Monday, February 11, all postal products, retail services, and Post Office Box operations offered by the Montgomery Post Office will relocate to 821H Eva Street.
A retail van will be available onsite from 9 a.m. – noon on Saturday, February 9 to accommodate postal customer transactions during the transition phase between the two facilities.
The new retail site is located a short distance from the Montgomery Post Office. Once the move is complete, the postal site at 903 Eva Street will continue delivery operations as the Montgomery Post Office Annex, while the new site will serve as the Montgomery Post Office.
Pickup services for postal customers notified after attempts were made at the delivery address for Express Mail, Priority Mail, parcels, COD items, Postage Due, Certified Mail and Registered Mail, and other items will continue to be provided through the Montgomery Post Office Annex from 9:00 AM to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
The relocation of retail services will provide additional space for efficient mail delivery operations within the Montgomery Post Office Annex, while providing additional work space to accommodate future delivery growth in the rapidly developing area. The new site will also be offering passport application services.
The Montgomery Post Office has a staff of 51 employees, with 35 Rural Mail Delivery routes operating from the facility.
“This move will offer more convenient customer parking, and postal lobby space, while providing our Post Office Box customers with new lockboxes,” said Lynn Keenan, Officer-In-Charge for the Montgomery Post Office. “We’ll be able to provide the same friendly retail service while having more space to manage delivery operations.”
