Corporal Alfred “Mac” Wilson Dedication Ceremony

WHAT:     
On October 7, 2008, Public Law 110-349, sponsored by Congressman Michael Conaway, was approved designating the building located at 200 North Texas Avenue in Odessa, Texas, as the “Corporal Alfred “Mac” Wilson Post Office”.

WHEN:     
Thursday, February 5, 2009, ceremony beginning at 10 a.m.
The public is invited.

BACKGROUND:
On March 3, 1969, Wilson lost his life while defending his country in Vietnam.  In recognition of his ultimate sacrifice, the Medal of Honor was presented to his family by Vice President Spiro T. Agnew on April 20, 1970, at the White House.

The U.S. Postal Service values its role as a community leader, and in recognition of Corporal Wilson, will host a ceremony to officially dedicate the current Odessa Post Office postal facility as the Corporal Alfred “Mac” Wilson Post Office Building.
