Kristi Hamilton Appointed new Postmaster in Clinton TN

Kristi Hamilton is the new Postmaster of Clinton Tennessee, effective August 2, 2008.

Hamilton began her postal career as a part-time clerk in the Computerized Forwarding System in 1993.  She later served as supervisor of the CFS in Knoxville, and went on to serve as supervisor at several Knoxville city stations, before coming to Oak Ridge as supervisor in 2003.

“Coming to Oak Ridge was a wonderful opportunity and I was fortunate to work with some outstanding employees and managers,” said Hamilton. “I learned so much and gained valuable experience that will help me in my new position.”

Hamilton worked as Acting Postmaster in Harriman and Jacksboro before being appointed Postmaster of Oliver Springs in October 2007. She has most recently served as Acting Postmaster of Oak Ridge.

“I’ve lived in the area for the past 15 years and to be named Postmaster of my adopted hometown is a dream come true,” said Hamilton. “I’m excited to have the chance to help serve all the citizens of Clinton.”

Hamilton and her husband Ron have a 10-year old son, Lance, who attends school in Clinton.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
