Special Collection Points for "Tax Night" - Tuesday April 15th

Memphis TN - The Memphis Post Office is planning to make "Tax Night", Tuesday, April 15th, less stressful for customers trying to mail those last-minute tax returns.

Postal customers are encouraged to mail their tax returns early at any post office, branch or collection box located throughout the Memphis and surrounding areas. For those customers who wait until the last minute, the Postal Service will set up special collection points.  At these locations, mailers that were unable to deposit their tax returns before normal cut-off times at other postal facilities can still meet the April 15th deadline.

"Tax Night" Collection Points from 6 p.m. until Midnight are:

• Germantown Post Office                 7776 Farmington Rd………...Germantown TN 38138-9998

* Stamps will not be available at Raleigh & Main Post Office “tax night”. (collection points only)

Collierville Post Office will extend the window hours until 8:00 p.m.

Contract Postal Unit (CPU) with extended hours on “Tax Night”:

Cinemagic, 5736 Stage Road, Memphis TN  38134 will extend mail collection until 10:00 p.m. for “last minute” tax filers.

All mail deposited before midnight at any of these collection points will receive the APRIL 15TH POSTMARK.

Mailers are cautioned to check the collection times posted on mailboxes at any other location to make certain that there is a collection scheduled later that day.  If no collection is scheduled, the mail will be collected the next day and would receive an April 16th postmark, which will be past the deadline.
