Rickie Kunzweiler Named New Sioux Falls Postmaster

SIOUX FALLS — Rickie Kunzweiler has been named the new Postmaster/Plant Manager at the Sioux Falls Post Office. She will be responsible for all customer service, mail processing and administrative functions. The announcement was made by Dakotas District Manager Clem Felchle.

The Sioux Falls Post Office handles 455 million pieces of mail each year with annual revenues of approximately 96 million dollars. There are nearly 550 employees who process and deliver mail to more than 76,000 addresses, six days a week.

Kunzweiler is a 32-year postal veteran with a wealth of management experience. She has served as Postmaster at Chamberlain, SD and was most recently a senior manager of Post Office operations for the district, overseeing operations at Post Offices throughout the Dakotas and northwestern Minnesota. For the past four months she has been the officer-In-charge at Sioux Falls. She is also a graduate of the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program.

“Rickie has a strong background in both customer service and mail processing functions,” says Felchle. “She is committed to our customers and to the success of our employees and organization, a true person of integrity.”

Kunzweiler says that she is excited for the new opportunity and looking forward to continuing her work with the customers and employees of the Postal Service. “The Dakotas District is a leader in providing great service to our customers,” she says. “Our employees have set the bar high and we will continue to push to do even better,”

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
