New 24-hour Contract Postal Unit Now Open in Orangeburg

First Postal Unit in Greater SC To Provide Around-The-Clock Service

COLUMBIA, SC — Postal customers in Orangeburg will discover convenience and service at Henry’s Travel Plaza, 1935 Old Edisto Dr with the opening of a new Contract Postal Unit.  This unit, the first of its kind in the Greater South Carolina Postal District (ZIP Codes 290-6), will provide service on a 24 hours/7 days a week basis.

The new CPU, which opened for business June 2nd, will be a full service unit, offering a full line of postal products and services, including postage stamps, Express Mail® service, Priority Mail® service, special services, packaging products, and more.

“Adding this new unit not only multiplies the service options for our customers,” said Postmaster Ron Whitehead, “it benefits those who still come to the Post Office on Middleton Street by reducing their time in line.  Our customers now have two 24-hour service options in Orangeburg, the Automated Postal Center here in the Post Office lobby and the new CPU.”

The Postal Service offers access to postal services and products nationwide through Post Offices, CPUs, Automated Postal Centers (APC) at select Post Offices and online at www.usps.com, to provide customer access 24 hours a day.  For more information regarding contract postal service locations, please contact your local Postmaster or Greater SC District Retail Office, at 803-926-6315.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
