Santa visits for “Mail Early Day” at St. George Post Office

Mail your packages and beat the rush!

Postmaster Kim Williams and the employees of the St. George Post Office want to welcome you and your family to a special event on Tuesday, December 12th: Mail Early Day. The guest of honor will be none other than Santa himself!  On a brief break from the workshop at the North Pole, Santa will be at the St. George Post Office from noon to 4 p.m.  He will have a sweet treat for your little one and will take all Santa letters and requests personally back to the North Pole.

For parents, this will be a chance to get those holiday cards and packages in the mail before the Christmas rush.  “We are ready to help no matter when you come in,” said Postmaster Williams, “but we thought it would help generate more Christmas spirit to invite Santa for a special day.  We had no idea he would be able to come!”

The St. George Post Office has all the packaging supplies and help you need to get your gifts in the mail safely this year, but remember, if you use Priority or Express Mail, the packaging is free.

“The busiest mailing day of the year will be Monday, Dec. 17th,” said Williams, “and the busiest delivery day will be Wednesday, Dec. 19th.  The deadline for mailing Parcel Post, the most economical service, is Saturday, Dec. 15th.  First-Class mail, your Christmas cards and all Priority packages should go by Thursday, December 20th.  For real procrastinators, there’s Express Mail, which will even be delivered on Christmas Day.  The Express Mail deadline is Saturday, December 22nd.”

The St. George Post Office is located at 5988 W. Jim Bilton Blvd and we’re open Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sat. 9 a.m. to noon.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
