Fox Chase Post Office Earns Prestigious OSHA Voluntary Protection Program ‘Star Award’

What:
Postal employees and officials from the U.S. Postal Service, the National Association of Letter Carriers, the American Postal Workers Union and OSHA will come together at a special ceremony and flag raising event when the Fox Chase Postal Station is awarded membership in the ‘Star’ Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Background:
All postal facilities strive to achieve the highest degree of safety through strict compliance with OSHA regulations. The Postal Service has participated in the Voluntary Protection Program since 2001. Fox Chase is the first postal facility in Philadelphia to earn this award, and only the fourth in the city including: Rohm and Haas, the U.S. Mint, and the Philadelphia Bulk Mail Center.
