Honey Brook Station Seeks To Expand or Relocate

Honey Brook, PA — The U.S. Postal Service® has announced plans to expand or relocate the Honey Brook PA Postal Retail Station.

Postal representatives were available at a community meeting on Monday June 2nd, 2008 at the Honey Brook Post Office to discuss the relocation or expansion process. "We would like input from our community residents,” said Postal Real Estate Specialist Rick Hancock. "We will consider all recommendations from the community and other comments received within 30 days after the meeting."

According to Hancock the current Post Office at 51 Pequea Avenue is no longer adequate to serve the needs of postal customers in our community. He added that the Postal Service will consider its options in the following order: expand the existing Post Office, move to another building, or relocate to a newly constructed facility. Postal Service officials are working with township community leaders to explore possibilities for the expanded Post Office operations.

“If expansion is not possible, the Postal Service will seek to lease an existing building or a suitable site to build a new Honey Brook Retail Station,” added Hancock. The preferred area is in the Borough of Honey Brook. The site size needed is approximately 4,000 net interior square feet.

It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
