Postal Service to hold public meeting
on New Castle mail processing study

Meeting to be held at New Castle High School auditorium, 7 p.m., July 15

WHAT:
Postal Service managers will give an overview and listen to community input regarding a proposal to move some mail processing operations from the New Castle Processing & Distribution Facility into The Pittsburgh Processing and Distribution Center.

WHO:
Western PA District Manager Charles P. McCreadie, Senior Plant Manager Jeffrey L. Bergen, and Western PA District operations staff.

WHEN:
Wednesday, July 15, 2009
7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (The two-hour meeting will end promptly at 9 p.m.)

WHERE:
New Castle High School Auditorium
300 E. Lincoln Avenue
New Castle, PA 16101

Attendees are asked to park in the Hurricane Drive parking lot and enter the high school from the rear entrance.

DETAILS:
The study results support consolidating some mail processing operations that are currently being performed at the New Castle P&DF by taking advantage of available processing capacity at the Pittsburgh P&DC in order to increase efficiency and improve productivity. While no final decision has been reached, Postal Service managers will give an overview of the reasons for the proposal and its possible outcomes, and will listen to community input and concerns. A summary of the proposal, a meeting agenda and presentation materials will be made available on usps.com.
