Asbury Heights Care Center to receive ‘Identity Theft & Ponzi Scheme Prevention’ seminar on March 10

“Nuts and Bolts: Tools for Today’s Economy”

What:
Postal Service officials and U.S. Postal Inspectors will host a seminar at the Asbury Heights Continuing Care Center to educate the community of “Identity Theft and Ponzi Scams” as part of National Consumer Protection Week. Officials will provide consumers with valuable information about protecting their assets from the schemes as well as ways to report suspected financial fraud.

Background:
National Consumer Protection Week is a national program led by the Federal Trade Commission to draw attention to issues and ideas that help customers become smarter consumers and learn how to combat fraud of any type.

The U.S. Postal Service Office of Consumer Advocate and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are working to educate consumers about identity theft and fraudulent schemes. The Postal Service will provide consumers with the tools and information needed to combat these crimes.
