Vernonia Post Office to Host Free “eBay Day” Event on Sept. 6

VERNONIA, OR — Are you a regular eBay user or just interested in trying the auction website? Are you interested in finding out how to ship your items on eBay using the Postal Service? Would you like to save time and money and become an even more successful eBay user?

Postal customers answering “yes” to any of these questions should visit one of the free “eBay Days” mailing information sessions being held in Vernonia. The event is scheduled at the Vernonia Post Office located at 716 Jefferson Ave. for Thursday, Sept. 6th.

Two 90-minute eBay information sessions will be presented at Thursday's event — one at 10 a.m. and the other at 12:30 p.m. The morning session will cover “The Basics” and the later session will focus on “The World of Selling.”

Attendees will learn how to register to buy and sell items on eBay. Postal services and benefits will be featured, including Click-N-Ship online postage demonstrations, where postal representatives will teach customers how to print mailing labels via the Internet.

Attendees will also learn how to order free mailing supplies online and how to request package pickups without ever leaving their home or office.

There are over 125 million registered eBay users. About 75 percent of them already use the Postal Service for their eBay shipping needs. In 2004, the Postal Service and eBay launched an integrated mailing program that allows buyers and sellers to calculate postage, print labels with paid postage, pay for insurance, and request free postal carrier pickup directly from their “My eBay” web page.

All events at eBay Day are free. For more information, please contact the Vernonia Post Office.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $73 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
