Post Office hours announced for New Year’s

Many Postal Service Facilities will close early before and after New Year’s Day

COLUMBUS, OH – Most Post Offices in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Ohio will close early Wednesday, December 31 and Friday, January 2, 2009 and all offices will be closed all day on New Year’s Day.

Nearly all Columbus Postal Service facilities with ZIP Codes beginning with 430, 432, 431, 433, 437, 438, 456, and 457 will close at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31 and Friday, January 2, 2009. The collection boxes in the district will be collected as scheduled before 12 p.m. (noon) on both days. The one exception is the Port Columbus Station. The Port Columbus Station, 4299 Sawyer Rd., at the Columbus International Airport will be open a bit later until 3 p.m. on both New Year’s Eve and the day after New Year’s, January 2.

The collection boxes in the district will be collected as scheduled before 12 p.m. (noon) and all offices will have signage about the early closure hours. Normal Post Office Box services will be provided at all locations during those three days, December 31-January 2. Regular business hours at all locations will resume on Saturday, January 3.
