Power outages impact Post Offices

Retail operations hit harder than delivery services

Cincinnati Postmaster Joe Meimann has announced that mail delivery will be attempted from every City office today. Customers are advised that downed trees and power lines as well as other debris may impact carriers’ ability to reach some areas. Several City offices are currently without power and able to conduct only limited retail operations.

  • Post Office box mail is available at all locations.
  • Customers may drop off mail
  • Customers may pick up vacation hold mail.

Retail transactions are limited due to power outages.  There is currently no power at:

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
