Dayton Post Office Dabel Branch to Stay Open Later

6 p.m. Weekday Closing Adds Convenience to Area Customers

DAYTON, OH — The Dabel Branch of the Dayton Post Office, located at 1490 Forrer Blvd., (45420), will remain open an hour longer on weekdays until 6 p.m. starting June 7, said Postmaster Darryl K. Myers.  Saturday operating hours will remain the same.

“It’s part of our ongoing effort to make it easier for our customers to meet their mailing and shipping needs,” Myers said.

New hours of operation for the Dabel Branch are:

Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.—Sat. 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The postmaster added that many services are available on a 24-hour basis by going online to usps.com. Users can buy stamps, print mailing labels, pay for postage, confirm delivery or arrange for a package pick up at the home or office at no extra charge.

Myers also points out that an Automated Postal Center, which customers can use to buy stamps or mail packages anywhere in the U.S. using a credit or debit card, is available on a 24-hour basis at the Main Post Office at 1111 E. Fifth St.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
