Two Cincinnati Post Office Locations to Stay Open Later

CINCINNATI, OH —Two locations of the Cincinnati Post Office will stay open later starting June 7, 2008 as an added convenience for area customers, says Cincinnati Postmaster Joseph Meimann.

“It’s part of our ongoing effort to make it easier for our customers to meet their mailing and shipping needs,” Meimann said.

The two retail locations will now remain open weekdays until 6:30 p.m.  Saturday hours will remain the same. New hours of operation are:

Sycamore Branch, 4914 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242
Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.—Sat. 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In addition the Sycamore Branch has an Automated Postal Center which customers can use to buy stamps or mail packages anywhere in the U.S. using a credit or debit card.

Hyde Park Station, 2639 Erie Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45208

Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.—Sat. 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The postmaster added that many services are available on a 24-hour basis by going online to usps.com. Users can buy stamps, print mailing labels, pay for postage, confirm delivery or arrange for a package pick up at the home or office at no extra charge.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
